A Criminal for our Sake
Israeli Politics and Society
For more than six years the southern Israeli town of Sderot has received an almost daily bombardment of Palestinian rockets, and yet for more than six years the Israeli government insists that there is very little that can be done about it.מחיר:0.00 ש"חA Democratic Vision

Shimon Peres has been elevated to the president's office. His election to presidency added one more power hold to the political Left which already controls the way Israel defend itself (Ministry of Defense), see itself (media) and judge itself (Supreme Court). This in itself is not necessarily a bad thing. The Left have many good things to offer, particularly in the area of social justice.

Though Israel say it will never talk with a terrorist organization that refuses to recognize its right to exist, the fact is that it already had done so in what is known as ‘The Oslo Accords.’ Prior to Oslo, our leaders told us that Israel will never talk with the PLO, a terrorist organization that until today refuses to renounce its commitment to eliminate the Zionist state.

The name Nidra Poller was unknown to me until I read her article in the weekly Makor Rishon (18.1.2008, p. 8). Poller is an American novelist and journalist who live in France since 1972. One of Poller’s quests in the past few years is to expose what she calls “The Al-Dura Blood Liable.” Her writing appealed to me straight away because of its crisp and unabashed nature, and of course because I believe she understands the true nature of Israel hatred.מחיר:0.00 ש"חBeautiful Walls

Those who made the decision to build walls around Israel cannot see them from Tel Aviv and those civil servants who drew the lines on the map have never set foot on the soil upon which it is built. Otherwise, why there are walls within walls? Why there are walls that cut through Palestinian villages. Why there are walls that stop half way through?

If you want to know how Israel will look ten years from now, you should read the daily newspaper Haaretz. Before I continue, you should know that until four years ago Haaretz came to my doorstep every morning, until it’s anti-Israeli stench forced me to stop my subscription on this otherwise excellent newspaper.

Yifat Alkobi, a vulgar Israeli woman from Hebron, called her Palestinian neighbor a “whore.” While such expressions are as regrettably common as “hello,” when it comes to a settler, a common curse word turns into a feast of hate. Settler-bashing by Israelis is similar to Israel-bashing by non-Israelis.מחיר:0.00 ש"חCleaning our streets

Though the hologram performance of Al Gore on Live Earth day this July looked bizarre, he does have a point. In Israel, like in other countries, the messengers of Gore's apocalypse were not prophets but singers. Even so, there are only a few that will object the idea that we can limit significantly the damage we inflict on our environment.מחיר:0.00 ש"חFallen tabernacles

Tabernacle is only a glorified word for a very simple structure. During the feast of Sukkot (booths, tabernacles) countless of pity little square structures are erected all across Israel. I built such structure in my own back yard. It is small, shaky and esthetically lacking assembly of simple building material. There is no external beauty to the sight of hundreds of Sukkot built throughout my neighborhood yet one cannot deny that there is something magical about them.מחיר:0.00 ש"חGiving thanks at all times
Israeli Politics and Society
It is curious to see how the Jewish society in Israel some times implements "Christian" values more enthusiastically than Christians. Not once before, there were those who compared the Israeli "restraint policy" against her enemies as an example for Jesus' teaching to turn the other chick, though in most cases it came as a form of criticism against such policy.מחיר:0.00 ש"ח- Pages: 1 2 3 > Next
